STUDENT MENTAL
HEALTH & WELLNESS

Thank you for exploring the Mental Health & Wellness program options that Archie Cares can provide your students. A focus on mental health & encouraging help-seeking behaviors is likely more important now than ever before. Each of these programs is tailored to encourage, challenge, and equip your students to feel prepared for all of life’s emotional challenges.

IT'S OKAY NOT TO BE OKAY

Depression is real. It’s not a hurt that you can simply make “go away,” and you can’t just “walk it off.” If you’ve ever suffered from it, or had a friend or family member who has, you know it can ravage a soul and leave a shell of a person.

This program allows students to assess their own mental health and identify ways they can improve their daily self-care plan. Attendees learn to identify signs their friend, family member or classmate may be struggling. Participants discover action steps to encourage help-seeking behaviors while avoiding the less-than-helpful things often said to those struggling with depression.

CAN WE GRIEVE YET? UNDERSTANDING TRAUMATIC STRESS REACTIONS

The COVID-19 global pandemic was sudden, overwhelming and life-changing. For many of us, there are no outwardly visible signs of trauma, but the emotional toll is there, nonetheless. But the impacts we’ve collectively experienced from both the pandemic and social unrest are vastly different from anything we have ever experienced before. For many, the losses are bigger, the hurts are deeper, and the fear is greater. We are experiencing loss both as individuals and as a community.

This program will explore the phases of Traumatic Stress Reactions, or disaster grief, that occur following a disaster. Understanding that research can help us understand how to move our communities forward while we travel our own personal grief journey.

YOU CAN'T WASH YOUR
ANXIETY AWAY IN 20-SECONDS

The good news: experiencing anxiety during a period of global change is completely normal. The not so good news: it’s extremely difficult to adjust to a “new normal” when you’re struggling with different and potentially strong feelings of insecurity and worry.

In this interactive presentation, Archie walks through smart mental health practices in a time of high anxiety and uncertainty. There are self-care best practices your employees or team members can use to improve their mood and things they can begin to avoid when they’re having an off mental health day. Attendees also learn what the research says about the science of happiness and what they need to create it for themself.
Spoiler alert: everything we need to be truly happy we’ve always had - we just might not have known it.
